Achal Khanna is a Consultant General, Laparoscopic & Robotic and Benign Upper GI Surgeon, based at the Milton Keynes University Hospital, The Saxon Clinic, Milton Keynes and Blakelands Hospital, Milton Keynes. Mr Khanna undertook his Higher Specialist Training in General and Oesophagogastric Surgery (Upper GI) at The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

He is an expert at Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, Robotic Surgery, open General Surgery and Upper GI endoscopy (gastroscopy).

After qualifying from Nottingham University, Mr Khanna undertook novel research into Nitric Oxide and endothelial dysfunction in Australia.

This thesis resulted in multiple papers in high impact peer reviewed journals and multiple presentations at International, National and Regional levels. Subsequent to this work, Mr Khanna was also invited to present his findings at International Scientific Conferences and was also awarded the prestigious ‘Queen Elizabeth Research Foundation Scholarship,’ and the ‘Justin Miller Memorial Prize,’ from the Royal College of Surgeons of Australasia.

He completed his Surgical Training in the East Midlands and was admitted to become a Member of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCSEd) in 2008 (at first attempt) and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2014 (at first attempt), with sub-specialisation in Oesophagogastric surgery (Upper GI surgery) (FRCS (Eng) Gen).
